CD Forum will discuss gentrification in Seattle

Submitted by Rose Egge on Monday, September 28th, 02:44pm

Seven years ago, the CD Forum posed the question: How central is the Central District for Seattle’s black community?

Now, the organization is looking at the present and future of the Central District and how gentrification has changed the landscape of Seattle’s traditionally Black neighborhoods.

To be a part of this conversation attend a special event on Oct. 22, "Which Way Seattle? Geography of Black Seattle in the CD and Beyond.” Community members will discuss geographic boundaries and Black Seattle’s sense of identity around the Central District and beyond.

Event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 and is at the Yesler Community Center. It is free and open to the public.
